li enyi meets with chief economist of citibank

  on december 20, li enyi, president of china longyuan power, met with dr. shen minggao, citibank’s chief economist in greater china, accompanied by beijing leading group members. the two sides had an in-depth discussion on hot issues, such as domestic and overseas macro-economic situations and policy changes in the future, 2014 economic growth anticipation of major economic entities in the world, and the relationship between deepening market-oriented economic reform in china and economic growth, etc.

 

  li expounded his views on deepening reforms on state-owned enterprises adopted at the third plenary session of the 18th cpc central committee, the tone and focus of policy for 2014 set at the central economic work conference as well as the opportunities and challenges for future development of new energy state-owned enterprises, etc. li indicated that, the chinese economy enjoys a strong momentum of steady growth in view of present situation, and is now at a superposition stage of growth rate shift, structural adjustment and pre-stimulus digestion. the main tasks are to transform development mode and focus on turning development standpoint to the improvement of quality and effectiveness. as an important prop for adapting to economic transition and accelerating structural adjustment of electric power industry, new energy industry has broader development space.

 

  dr. shen responded to global economic growth trend in the future, and the future difficulties and concerns of economic system reform by the central committee in practice. in particular, he pointed out that state-owned enterprises should pay close attention to market-oriented economic reform process, economic growth trend, and the impact on electricity market and price formation, etc. dr. shen also stressed that the rising capital cost of rmb in china as a result of supply factor and uncertain anticipation will have a great impact on enterprise operation. therefore, enterprises should tightly control liquidity risk when expanding investment.
