on the afternoon of jan. 18, xie changjun, president and vice secretary of the party leadership group of china longyuan power, had an interview with five guests, including brad duguid, minister of ontario ministry of economic development & innovation and provincial congressman, john brodhead, chief of ontario governor’s office, and dr. song yijun, ontario representative of embassy of canada in china.
mr. xie first extended his welcome to mr. duguid and then he recalled the personal letter from mr. duguid which congratulated china longyuan power on its successful acquisition of 100mw dufferin wind power project. at that time mr. duguid was the minister of ontario ministry of energy. mr. xie also introduced the current situation of chinese new energy industry and the basic information of the company. he pointed out that at present the company’s oversea business mainly focused on the development in north america, australia, south africa and central-east europe. in view of the fair and stable political environment and the fixed feed-in tariff policy of new energy carried out by ontario as well as based on the steady implementation of dufferin wind power project, the company would look for other proper offshore and onshore wind power project and solar power project in canada, in particular in ontario.
mr. duguid said that as the world-renowned second largest wind power operator, china longyuan power had made admirable achievement. he introduced ontario’s new energy development plan and its plan to close all the thermal power enterprises by 2014 to mr. xie. in addition, he encouraged the company to increase its investment in ontario and said that he would try his best to coordinate with the company in its development in the province.
after the interview, mr. xie invited mr. duguid to visit the monitoring center of safe production and operation as well as presented part of the real time operation of wind farm.
