in oct. 28, accompanied by company leaders and staffs of jiangsu and hulun buir red crosses, fan haili entered nanjing gulou hospital. after days of medical observation, stem-cell collection procedure began on nov. 1. he insisted on taking light-flavored food and did not drink a drop of water before collection, striving to overcome discomfort, to achieve a better quality of stem cells. 136-ml stem cell suspension was successfully collected after a four-hour procedure, and transplanted to the recipient as soon as possible. hisdream of helping others with bone marrow finally came true.
nov. 16, fan haili was back to company. hulun buir red cross awarded him the title “bone marrow-donating love messenger” and trophy. during his hospitalization, company leaders had made numbers of calls to follow up the issue and entrusted their greetings to associate company towards him. in a forum held by hulun buir company based on the theme “welcome fan haili back” recently, participants were all inspired by his marvelous life and reached a consensus – “we are all surrounded by moving stories every day; we shouldbe grateful and give out our kindness to support the ones suffering from painful diseases.”
