on the morning of may 10, 2011, guodian longyuan held the completion and production ceremony of its lai’an wind farm(200mw) in anhui, which indicated the first large wind farm of low wind speed in china had been officially completed and put into production as well as made a breakthrough in anhui’s wind power development.
guests as follows attended the ceremony: xie changjun, gm of china longyuan power, huang qun, secretary of the party leadership group of china longyuan power, and duty leaders from different administration levels including lai’an county, chuzhou city, anhui province and relevant departments.
new energy & renewable energy department of national energy administration sent its telegram of congratulations specially which said that the launch of lai’an project would play a demonstrative and leading role in promoting the exploitation and development of the wind resources in the inland provinces(regions or metropolises) with low wind speed. meanwhile, it requested the company to cautiously summarize its success experience and accelerate the development of the wind resources in inland areas.
lai’an wind power project lies in the hilly and lower mountainous areas in the northern part of lai’an county. the project is composed of four phases in which 132 sets of 1.5mw turbines with blade of extra-length have been installed. the project started to be constructed on march 12, 2010. in the same year, the first turbine was successfully hoisted and installed. on january 6, 2011, its phase 1 was launched into production and connected to the grid. after the completion of the project, it is expected that each year 390 million kwh of electricity will be generated, and the emission of 410 thousand tons of carbon dioxide and 1,496 tons of sulfur dioxide will be reduced.
