from may 20 to 25, mr. zhu yongpeng, chairman of the board and general manager of china guodian corporation visited south africa in the company of mr. xie changjun, general manager of china longyuan power group co., ltd. they visited the government of south africa and power enterprises there and talked about things relating to cooperative development of new energy resources in a friendly atmosphere and investigated the progress of the company’s wind power projects there.
during their visit in africa, the delegate investigated de aar of northern cape province, johannesburg and the south africa power utility. they made interviews with some senior officers from the government and enterprises, such as mr. sindisile w. madyo, officer in charge of economic development dept. of pixley ka seme of northern cape province, ms. elizabeth dipuo peters, minister of the ministry of energy of south africa, mr. mpho makwana, chairman of the board of the south africa power utility, mr. dr. steve lennon, vice general manager of the south africa power utility. they talked about some issues enthusiastically, such as the construction of wind farms, the signing of ppa and the grid connection. the officers of south africa affirm that they will create good environment of laws and investment for china guodian corporation and china longyuan power’s development of wind power. they will also handle the problems, such as land acquisition, material purchase, grid connection, project application, transportation and tax policy.（niu xuan）
