on 26 november, 2009, the 49,500kw project as saiwusu wind farm (phase ii) of longyuan (bayan ne was put into production. in 2009, 16 wind power projects of china longyuan power group corporation limited have been put into production; and the installed capacity put into production has amounted to 727,200 kw.
the construction site of the saiwusu wind farm project is located at saiwusu town, wulate houqi, bayan nur city, inner mongolia; with altogether 66 1,500kw sinovel® wind turbines installed, the total installed capacity amounts to 99,000 kw. the installed capacity of the project (phase ii) adds up to 49,500kw; with 33 1,500kw wind turbines installed, the volume of annual on-grid energy will be over 120 million kwh. when the project (phase ii) has been put into production, by comparison with a thermal power plant of the same scale, the consumption of standard coal can be cut down by about 40,000 tons each year; meanwhile, the annual discharge of dust, carbon dioxide, and sulfur dioxide can be cut down by about 6,070 tons, about 110,000 tons, and about 607 tons respectively. moreover, the consumption of water can be cut down by about 6,420 tons.
since the construction of the saiwusu wind farm was started on 26 august, 2008, the project has been progressing smoothly. the debugging of equipment at the booster station was started in june 2009, it took only two months to get well made all preparations for electricity transmission and the coordination with the grid and china guangdong nuclear power holding corporation, etc. on 12 september, 2009, the booster station realized an inverse power transmission operation successfully and thus fulfilled the task of inverse power transmission before the grid is closed up for the purpose of the national day. the 49,500 kw project as saiwusu wind farm (phase i) was put into production on 29 september, 2009; both the pouring for the foundation of 33 wind turbines and that for the packaged substation of the 49,500 kw project as saiwusu wind farm (phase ii) were fully completed on 29 july, 2009. the hoisting and mounting of wind turbines started on 21 august, 2009 and completed on 2 november, 2009.
all staff members of saiwusu wind farm, longyuan (bayan nur) wind power generation co., ltd. and the company’s personnel engaged in engineering and construction have been faced up with many difficulties: the natural environment was rather bad; they were far away from cities and family members; working and living conditions on site were poor; and there were only a limited number of manpower among which less experienced staff members accounted for a large part. yet, they finally managed it to complete the constructions of saiwusu wind farm (phases i and ii) smoothly by struggling hard during a period of over 12 months.
